Jericho's people are wanderers they create hundreds of small hamlets which are scattered across the country which can be quickly dismantled and moved when needed. The different hamlets are usually occupied by less then a hundred people. As the families and clans constantly move about the land to defend the country. Durock may be perceived by other countries as barbaric, tyrannical and reclusive due to the difference of its culture and penchant for slavery and war.

Generally, "The Great House" aims for economic self-sufficiency, as the only viable trade route is land due to hostility of some neighbors. Slave trade is common in Jericho and has made them hated by the free cities. Slaves are mainly considered an export - population of conquered regions is sometimes sold into slavery to foreign cities such as Darkridge. Freeing a slave is considered a disgusting act and those who do it are either banished or executed.
